What is izbica poland?

Izbica is a small town located in eastern Poland's Lublin Voivodeship. It has a population of approximately 4,000 people.

During World War II, Izbica was the site of a Jewish ghetto where tens of thousands of Jews were forced to live before being transported to extermination camps. It is estimated that around 32,000 Jews were sent from Izbica to the Belzec death camp.

Today, the town has a memorial dedicated to the victims of the Holocaust, including a cemetery and a plaque commemorating the ghetto. Izbica is also known for its historic synagogue, which was built in the 17th century and is one of the oldest surviving synagogues in Poland.
